Mike Whooley on Opportunity, Growth, and Never Being Afraid to Try

Jenny had the opportunity to interview Mike Whooley of the Trenton Thunder during our visit to the ballpark for a thoughtful conversation about family, baseball, and embracing new opportunities. Mike shared that his older brother inspired him throughout his baseball journey and motivated him to continue pursuing the game. He also explained that while many athletes rely on pregame rituals, he prefers to focus on preparation rather than superstition, believing that success comes from the work you put in before the first pitch.

One of the most memorable moments of the interview came when Mike encouraged young people to step outside their comfort zones and try new things. He explained that many of life's greatest opportunities come from putting yourself in situations where success can find you, because you never know what you might discover about yourself until you take that first step.
