Jake Koonin Interview | Trenton Thunder Baseball

Jake Koonin on Competition, Confidence, and Embracing New Challenges

Jenny had the opportunity to interview Jake Koonin of the Trenton Thunder during our visit to the ballpark for a conversation about competition, perseverance, and embracing new challenges. Jake shared how his father inspired his love for baseball by introducing him to the game at a young age and following in his footsteps by playing college baseball at Princeton. He explained that his favorite part of baseball is competing alongside his teammates, all working toward one common goal of winning together.

One of the most meaningful moments of the interview came when Jake encouraged young people not to let fear keep them from trying something new. He shared that while failure can seem intimidating, the rewards that come from putting in the effort and embracing new opportunities far outweigh the risks of never trying. Jake also praised the Trenton Thunder coaching staff for creating a positive, player-first environment that makes learning and improving enjoyable every day. We are grateful to Jake and the Trenton Thunder organization for welcoming Jenny and supporting our mission of creating a more inclusive world through storytelling and meaningful conversations.
