On March 21, 2026, I had a blast at my first Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) game at Mennen Sports Arena! One of the coolest parts of the night was getting the chance to interview Danbury Hat Tricks forward Josh Newberg. As a huge hockey fan and someone who dreams of becoming a sports reporter, it was exciting to talk with a professional hockey player and learn more about his journey in the game.

I also had the opportunity to work with Kristin "Kiki" O'Connell, the Director of Communications & Media for the Danbury Hat Tricks. Kiki gave me a lot of helpful advice about interviewing and shared tips that will help me grow as a reporter. She also talked with me about future interview opportunities, which made the experience even more special. I learned so much, met some amazing people, and had an incredible time. Thank you to Josh, Kiki, and the entire Danbury Hat Tricks organization for making my first FPHL game such a memorable experience!
